Church's Friday night chat and entertainment series will continue with a run of 6 x 45 minute shows next spring and a further 6 x 45 minute shows for next summer.
Church herself said: “I’m delighted that the show has been a success and that Channel 4 is confident enough to commission two more series. I’ve loved the experience so much that I’m going to take a year out from making records to concentrate on the show, so that it's even better when it returns next year.”
The show has attracted an average audience of 1.9 million and a 10% share of the available audience, well above average for a new series.
Andrew Newman, Channel 4 head of entertainment and comedy, said: "Charlotte has proved herself to be a hugely talented star and has got better and better each week. She has become an incredibly charismatic all-round entertainer while remaining 100% natural, relaxed, down to earth and completely unfazed by her stardom."
Earlier this week, Church won Funniest TV Personality at the Loaded LAFTA Awards.
Will Macdonald, executive producer at Monkey, said : “There’s not been a single idea that Charlotte hasn’t grasped straight away, and then improved on. She’s a natural with really good comedy timing, instant rapport with guests, and of course a great set of pipes. It’s been properly fun and a joy to work with someone who really gets it. Viva Lass Cardiff.”
The current series ends on Friday, October 13, with a Christmas special planned.
