Kate Beckinsale has revealed her plans to become an author.

The actress will pen a fictional novel, but surprisingly will not use her famous name to boost sales.

She admits: "I'll probably write a novel but not under my own name. I wouldn't want to be a celebrity author. That sounds highly vulgar to me. I wouldn't want anyone buying it because I've been in a couple of silly movies."
