Peter Kay has landed his dream role in hit musical The Producers.
The popular comedian was delighted after securing the part of Roger DeBris in the stage show, which is based on the 1968 film of the same name.
"This is my bombshell I’m dropping! I'm doing Mel Brook's The Producers which has always been my favourite film," he revealed in an interview with Parkinson.
"My big ambition all my life was to turn it into a musical - I even got a geography exercise book and started writing it! And then I got the soundtrack and ordered it at Bolton library and I got the video. I got everything, I loved it to bits.
"I'm playing Roger DeBris who is the gay director which is just fantastic, I can't wait! I'm doing it in Manchester and it's brilliant because I can see the theatre from the roof of my house, so I can be there in twenty minutes!"
Parkinson airs at 10.30pm tonight on ITV1.
