U2 win legal battle against stylist

Rock band U2 have won a legal battle with their ex-stylist, forcing her to hand over a cowboy hat and clothes that she took from them in 1987.

Frontman Bono insisted that the clothes were acquired by Lola Cashman without their permission during the band's Joshua Tree tour.

The stylist however, claimed that the items were a gift and appealed against the ruling that they had to be returned.

U2 released a statement saying that they were relieved that the legal battle was over.

They added: "Proceedings were issued in Ireland very much as a last resort and with great reluctance" and that, despite being legally entitled to, they would not be claiming costs from Ms. Cashman.
