Carol and Matthew
For their first dance of the evening, performed the Viennese Waltz to Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway.
"You're a little bit like a science teacher - you understand the workings of the body," said Arlene. "Now i want to see you give that one step more and make it come from right inside."
Len said Carol was "like a great big red swan gliding across the water," adding that the pair had done a "beautiful job."
"The lady has surpassed herself tonight," observed Bruno.
Craig said he "would have liked to have seen a little more flow in [Carol's] arms," and pointed out a couple of other minor technical flaws in the performance but finished by calling the dance "amazing, absolutely amazing."

Matt and Lilia
For their first dance of the evening, performed the Quickstep to Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and The Waves.
"You're on cloud nine," Bruno told Matt. "Fabulous."
Craig raised some concern about Matt's tendency to occasionally go pigeon-toed, but told Matt, "I think in this competition you're the one who has grown the most," and added, "I really loved it, I thought it was great."
Arlene was more critical. "What this dance needs is sporty delivery and there's no doubt you have that, but technically it just lacked drive. You were going through the motions." After Len interrupted with an outraged "no," she added "I would like to see you in the finals... I'm not saying it to put you down."
Len offered the succint praise, "it was great."

Emma and Darren
For their first dance of the evening, performed the Waltz to Klauss Hallen's The Way We Were.
"I was absolutely mesmerised by that," said Craig. "I could have watched that all night; it was absolutely beautiful."
Arlene was again more critical, saying that although Emma told the story with the upper part of her body, her footline was "a little nasty."
"Sometimes a song, the routine and the performance all come together to make a great moment in dance," said Len. "That was one."
Bruno called the performance "flawless."
Both Darren and Emma challenged Arlene's comments, noting that they had put extra work into ensuring the steps were flawless. Although Brucie had to step in with his whistle, Len made it clear that he was with the couple.
Craig - 9; Arlene - 8; Len - 10; Bruno - 10: 37
Mark and Karen
For their first dance of the evening, performed the Foxtrot to Bobby Womack's California Dreaming.
"For me this dance was not one of your best," said Len, who apologised "for being so harsh." Bruno called the performance "a weird trot," and added: "I don't know what you were doing in there, the posture was wrong, the footwork was all over the place." Craig was mildly critical, calling the dance "occasionally lumpy." In contrast, Arlene was strongly critical but particularly so of Karen. "What the hell are you doing choosing something as difficult as that at this point," she said.
"We'll be back, we've got a second dance, we won't let you down," responded Karen.

Louisa and Vincent
For their first dance of the evening, performed the Viennese Waltz to Dean Martin's That's Amore.
"Well you know you got me with this one," said Bruno. "Great choreography... very entertaining."
Craig said he "really liked the classical opening," but said that Louisa spent "too much time out of hold." He also picked up on a minor "flummox" at the end of the dance.
Both Arlene and Len said that not enough of the dance was Viennese Waltz. "I don't think there was 50% Viennese Waltz in that and I object to that," said Arlene.
Craig - 8; Arlene - 8; Len - 8; Bruno - 9: 33
Carol and Matthew
For their second dance of the evening, performed the Samba to Wham's Club Tropicana.
"I can see how much work you're put in and you didn't let yourself down," said Craig.
Arlene was full of praise for Carol. She said: "I've been down, down, down on Carol but I have to say, what a surprise - you sexy Samba sizzler."
Unable to resist the opportunity for a pun, Len said: "If you keep this up you'll be here for Christmas Carol."
Craig - 7; Arlene - 9; Len - 9; Bruno - 9: 34
Matt and Lilia
For their second dance of the evening, performed the Rumba to The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice.
"I don't know why but there was a lot of posing steps in that routine," said an unimpressed Len. "For me that spoilt it a bit. It didn't have enough flow and Latin movement."
"For me, this Rumba was like the seduction that never happened," said Bruno, who plunged head-long into a delicious faux-pas with: "They would never believe you two were really going down for it." A swift "ahem" from Brucie resulted in the clarification: "I mean going for it 100%."
Craig called Matt's hip action "awkward," but praised him for "going for the emotion."
Arlene said that she "really disliked it."
Craig - 6; Arlene - 6; Len - 8; Bruno - 7: 27
Emma and Darren
For their second dance of the evening, performed the Paso Doble to Explosive by Bond.
"That went from the bullring to the ballroom to the bedroom," said Arlene, who also called the performance "powerful."
Len said that the dance "had fire and passion and drama," while Bruno called it "grand opera on the dance floor."
Craig said that the performance gave him goosebumps, calling the dance "really hard-hitting." He also revealed that Emma had suffered an injury in rehearsal.
Craig - 9; Arlene - 9; Len - 9; Bruno - 10: 37
Mark and Karen
For their second dance of the evening, performed the Samba to Peter Allen's I Go to Rio.
"The samba is the ultimate party dance," said Bruno. "This is your party."
Craig said that the pair were "back on the floor and burning it"; he called the dance "amazing."
"The swinging swirling swivelling hips are back," said Arlene.
"You're right back where you belong," added Len.
Craig - 9; Arlene - 9; Len - 9; Bruno - 9: 36
Louisa and Vincent
For their second dance of the evening, performed the Cha Cha Cha to Rescue Me by Fontella Bass.
"That has to be the cutest cha cha cha," said Craig, who added that Louisa needs to "pull [her] tongue in."
"Every cha cha should be cheeky and that was," said Arlene. "Occasionally you sort of looked lost... you've got to know what you're doing inside-out and believe in yourself."
Len said that the performance was "cheeky... lovely... really really good."
Bruno rounded up his comments by calling Louisa "bootylicious."
