Having to talk to employees of arrogant larger companies that underestimate us, (until they look us up and then come back full of 'ideas').

First thing you do in the morning when you get in
Pop the top off my Starbucks Grande Black Americano, take a sip and burn my tongue. Followed closely by wondering how I manage to do it everyday.

Any downsides to working in the media?
None I can think of. I could always change career if there was.

First media job
Club DJ at 15 years old in 1982, and was employed at the Hippodrome by Nov 1983 - aged 16.

Question you have been asked most this week
"Do you mind putting that away please, we're eating."

Biggest achievement to date
Surviving to 40 years old. Still single, still with hair, none grey. It's not much, but it means a lot to me.

Anything you wish you'd done differently?
I should have started Wippit 4 years later and spent the time on a beach somewhere.

Dream job/company/lifestyle
To finish writing my second book from a house overlooking a lake, somewhere in Argentina.

Best media jolly you've ever attended
Anything involving fast cars. Or boats.

What is your favourite radio moment?
Danny Baker's constant stream of radio gold is a pleasure to hear every day. That we're part of the process makes it even more special for me.

Next big thing in radio?
The death of the antenna, and 'live' radio as most popular radio will become timeshift, allowing the listener to hear what he or she loves when they want it.
