Channel 4 chief programmer Julian Bellamy is keen to find a new drama series for the channel.

Speaking to an audience of programme makers at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, Bellamy said that his experience of watching Channel 4 could be divided into eras:

"There was a Queer as Folk era, a Teachers era and a Shameless era," he said.

He admitted that a good series drama would bring an element of "subversive fun" back to Channel 4's schedule.
