The Woolies machine comes without any connection cables so, at the very least you are going to have to buy a SCART lead as well. Tried two of these before getting a refund. Both wouldn't produce a usable signal from the RF pass through socket. On of the two also blew its On blue indicator light the very first time I switched from On to Standby and back again and from that moment on it produced bad radio interference. I believe that this machine is actually manufactured by MiCO Electric of Hong Kong as it bears a remarkable similarity to the MiCO STB238 sold by Maplins and which also demonstrates the RF pass through problem.

The ability to manually arrange channels is the boxes best feature, use this along with the ability to scan for only free channels. Lots of channel information, if you really want this. I find the signal to be good for all channels. My only gripe is the 7-day EPG which isnt smooth and the graphics are not the best. The remote is cheap looking and some processes are slow and fiddly. There are a lot features that allow some of these gripes to be modified to one's preferences. At the end of the day it gives me a decent picture, three games, 2 scart ports (no cables). For 20 quid its very good value for money. My previous box was a pacific (ASDA) PSTB1 which looked and felt better but had less features and cost more.

My first one came without the remote, once I got it I set it up but couldn't get BBC1 or 2. I agree that some functions are really slow and the colour is awful - everything's a little bit green....not sure whether it's worth struggling through or battling for a refund

I got one for xmas, worked perfect...for 1 week. then the signal stregth went to 50-60%. a few days later, I got it changed. When I got home, This would not install any channels. tried 6 times and nothing. I would have phoned the helpline...but there isnt one with the product. So tomorrow I am taking it back, getting a refund and get another type from a Better store

I have had mine a couple of months and it has packed up completely it will only switch off when I remove the plug. I am in a very good reception area but every now and again it lost the signal went to blank screen and had to go through the motions of advertising itself before giving me back the picture. At the price it is as cheap as chips but I think they put very shoddy and cheap chips in it probably massed produced in the Orient. I am off out now to buy a decent one, I will of course pay more but I will make sure there is proper back up by the retailer and the manufacturer. Woolworths like Argos do have a good return policy but I cannot do with the hassle of finding the box and the reciept so I will just dump it in their store and let them do the ECO thing with it. I am surprised that Maplins sell a version as I have always had good electrical products from them at least you get a good technical backup from them. Woolworths used to have a great reputation on their products but more and more they enter the rip off Britain scheme as they try to compete with the major electrical stores.
