T-Bag, still loyal to Lechero after being allowed to be part of the escape plan, enlists Bellick to 'chicken foot' Sammy in return for a way out of Sona. He confidently accepts and plans to use the acetone to win the fight, as before. A shocked Sammy is then approached by Bellick and the gauntlet is laid down in front of Sona.
Susan gives Sucre a big wad of money for betraying Lincoln, seemingly unaware that it is part of a plan. Lincoln acquires a bomb from a local man, with a nervous Sofia acting as a translator. Sucre then hastily arranges a meeting with Susan and plants the bomb in her car, although he is shocked when she threatens the existence of Maricruz, as she traced the money being sent to her.
Bellick is aghast to learn that the acetone supply has run out, and begs Sammy to cancel the fight - but to no avail. He is in the process of being battered in the ring when some of Sammy's gang interrupt the fight to tell him they know Scofield's whereabouts. Sammy abandons the fight and heads to the cellar.
Scofield and Mahone find themselves trapped in the cellar after Lechero and Whistler are caught by Sammy's men outside the locked door. Against Mahone's wishes, Scofield opens the door as he needs Whistler alive and can't risk Sammy killing him.
Sammy climbs up to inspect the escape tunnel, but it collapses and he is killed under a pile of rocks. The incident acts as a diversion and allows Lechero and Mahone to murder Sammy's men in the cellar. It emerges that Scofield cleverly removed the metal pin shortly before allowing Sammy into the cellar.
Lechero returns to his former role as ruler of Sona, showing the inmates the corpses of Sammy and his gang. However, T-Bag is forced to accept Bellick into the escape plan after the former prison guard threatens to leak the news of their mission. Sofia goes through Whistler's belongings in their flat, but discovers a very suspicious looking metallic briefcase in the wardrobe.
