Cowell: 'I'm not welcome at Oscars'

Simon Cowell has claimed that he was not welcome at last night's Oscars because the Academy views him as the "anti-christ".

The X Factor judge said Oscar chiefs did not want small-screen performers to attend the prestigious ceremony.

He told The Mirror: "They think I'm the anti-christ. They don't like us TV people to be part of it - it's ridiculous. It reeks of snobbery.

"I have nothing to do with the Oscars - and nor do I want to. I'll only go if someone has invited me."

He added: "I hate the whole movie industry. It's so stuck up I can't bear it."

However, he said he was happy that girlfriend Terri Seymour was working at the ceremony, commenting: "Terri's on the red carpet this year doing interviews - I'm so proud of her and her career.

"She used to have 10 interviews a year, now she's doing four a day and it's all off her own back. She'll have a great time but there's no way she'll be interviewing me!"
