2257: Justin and Nancy share a kiss

Frankie is inconsolable presuming Jake is dead when he sneaks back into the Dog flat while she is alone. An emotionally pent up Frankie slaps him across the face, berating him for putting everyone through hell. A broken Jake is full of apologies for his deplorable actions, admitting the pain, loss and frustration pushed him over the edge. He insists that getting sent to prison would be the last straw for him and begs Frankie to help him get away.

Despite everything, Frankie's heart aches for Jake's plight and her maternal instinct spurs her to help her child. She gives him all the money she has in the flat but she is stopped in her tracks as a desperate Jake demands more, insisting he'll take Charlie to hospital as soon as he gets to France. Frankie is prepared to do anything to help Jake get away, but she feels awful about this. What Jake is suggesting could put Charlie's health at great risk. Will maternal instinct prevail over sense?

A nervous Nancy is afraid to leave Charlie behind after the kidnap incident. But when Justin comes visiting Charlie he is shocked by how physically and emotionally drained she is and persuades her to go home and rest. Nancy arrives back at her flat with a sense of heightened paranoia. Hearing the front door bang, she rushes out of the bathroom and surveys her empty flat, instantly unnerved.

Later, Nancy is furious when the doorbell rings and she opens the door to find Justin. Reassuring her that the hospital is on alert after the stunt Jake pulled, Justin explains he is here to protect her as Jake wants her dead. After she has relaxed, Nancy and Justin find themselves pouring their hearts out, Nancy admitting how she had hoped Jake was dead and Justin revealing how much he truly loved Becca and how he detests himself for what he did to her. Can anything really beautiful happen between these ill-suited people as Nancy and Justin unburden themselves and shock each other with their vulnerabilities….

When Katy admits she's tiring of so much emotional baggage and just wishes she could be a teenager again, Zak offers the perfect antidote and invites her for a drink at The Dog. Although she cannot, feeling disloyal to Justin, Zak reassures her it is just a drink. It is not long though before Katy finds herself relaxing and she joins Zak and Kris on the twister mat. When a mesmerised Zak moves to kiss her a shocked Katy rushes out. Zak goes after Katy and demands she tell him once and for all if she is interested in him…
