Michaela is in shock after seeing Rhys and Beth kissing, while John Paul worries about Michaela's strange behaviour. Michaela goes to great lengths to dodge Josh in the village but he intervenes when Michaela gets riled up by Lauren's teasing and demands to know why she's been evading him. Michaela is compelled to tell him the truth but Josh is adamant that Michaela is telling sick, twisted lies. As she persists, he realises that she's deadly serious.
Josh watches Beth and Rhys in the kitchen, noticing a closeness that goes beyond sibling affection. Josh confronts Rhys and Beth outright, who are taken aback, but Rhys recovers quickly, feigning disgust and accusing Michaela of being a druggie. As Beth adds that Michaela is bitter over Rhys dumping Mercedes, Josh backs down, mortified, and bolts from the room. Rhys follows and convinces Josh that Michaela is bad news, and an ashamed Josh promises that he will keep away from her.
John Paul's concerns about Michaela are cast aside when Kris and Kieron's friendship seems to be blossoming. His jealousy intensifies when he catches Michaela thanking Kieron for giving her advice about Josh. When John Paul confesses that he's worried Michaela has lied about the drugs, Kieron encourages him to have more belief in his little sister.
As they're joined by Kris, John Paul feels left out again as Kieron and Kris exchange some witty banter, but when Kieron notices John Paul's demeanour, he points out that there should be no need to feel awkward - they're just friends. John Paul agrees but it's clear that they have unfinished business together…
