Mr. Maguire by well more than a nose, as Seabiscuit would surely attest. Bale's a fine actor but I just don't feel his emotion. When Maguire's onscreen, he seems so accessible, so real, you're practically sitting there in the room with him. Not so with Bale. Prestige notwithstanding, Maguire has a magical presence that requires no smoke, mirrors or hat tricks. It just radiates from him and Bale can't touch it.
