5396: Oliver uses Mia to get to Marco’s ex

Toadie’s on a high when he pitches his romantic wedding plans to Susan and Libby. However, with only days to go, Steph takes wedding preparations into her own hands and arranges for a low key, straight forward wedding. Meanwhile, Toadie enlists Frazer as his best man, while Steph is devastated to learn that most of her family won’t be able to attend.

When Toadie tries to pitch Steph his ideas, she vents her disappointment at him, explaining that her family’s arrival is what she was looking forward to the most. Her admission is telling and dejected Toadie is drawn back to his memories of his wedding to Dee – a time when he felt loved and special – how a wedding should be. When Steph catches Toadie with a box of Dee’s wedding mementoes, he shocks her with a few home truths about Steph’s attitude to their special day.

Rosie refuses to be pressured by Frazer’s ultimatum, and privately fears that she will have no choice but to walk away from her marriage and motherhood. But when Rosie’s class action case sees her confronted by a grieving mother’s love for her child, Rosie realises she’d rather take a risk at raising her baby, than run away from her fear. In a touching declaration of love, Rosie and Frazer renew their devotion to each other and their child. They decide to face the future as a family.

Oliver’s curiosity is piqued by Mia’s sudden change of heart regarding Marco’s relationship with his ex-wife Marissa. When Carmella suggests Marco as a possible Godfather for Chloe, Oliver decides the matter can’t be dropped.
