Heather Mills has turned down an opportunity to become the face of a chain of sex shops.

The former wife of Sir Paul McCartney was offered £100,000 to promote fantasy wear and adult material for Private Shops, which has stores across the UK.

"Heather has all the right attributes," a spokesman for the chain explained. "As her spells as an escort and glamour model prove, she is clearly very open-minded and knows all about the sex industry. We even had plans for a book telling girls how to use sex appeal to bag a rich husband."

Mills' PR guru Michele Elyzabeth confirmed that the 40-year-old rejected the offer because it was not "the right direction" for her career.

Heather was awarded £24.3 million of McCartney's wealth at London's High Court in March.
