Rihanna knocks Leona off US top spot

Rihanna has replaced Leona Lewis at the top of the US singles chart, vaulting 52 places to 'Take A Bow' at number one.

Rihanna's leap is the second-highest jump to number one in Billboard Hot 100 history. Only Maroon 5, who climbed 62 places with 'Make Me Wonder' last May, have ascended to the top spot more dramatically.

Her near-record leap pushes Lewis' 'Bleeding Love' into second place, with Lil Wayne's 'Lollipop', another former chart-topper, falling to three.

Elsewhere, Coldplay score two new entries on this week's countdown: 'Viva La Vida' bows at 15, becoming the highest new entry of the week, while 'Violet Hill' debuts at 40.
