'Apprentice' audience dips, but still strong

The Apprentice remained television's biggest draw on Wednesday, despite a modest dip in its audience.

The reality show was watched by 6.7m viewers, or 28.4% of the total audience. The figure is 100,000 off the average for the series so far.

ITV1 put up a stronger challenge than most Wednesdays with coverage of the UEFA Cup final between Rangers and Zenit St Petersburg. The average audience for the entire programme, shown between 7.30pm and 10pm, was 5.9m (27.8%).

Channel 4 documentary Half Ton Dad, meanwhile, attracted 2.7m (11.6%) over an hour from 9pm - falling below the 3.4m (14%) slot average for the year so far.

On BBC Two, Dan Cruickshank's Adventures in Architecture drew 1.3m (5.6%) from 9pm, and Five doc The Amityville Horror was watched by 913,000 (4.8%).
