Ferrera concerned over 'Ugly Betty' move

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera has admitted that she is "nervous" about the show's forthcoming move to New York.

The ABC comedy has been filmed in Los Angeles for two years, but the show will switch to the Big Apple when production on the third season begins in July.

America, who plays lead character Betty Suarez, confessed that she is worried New Yorkers could resent the disruption caused by the move.

"I'm excited. I'm a little nervous too," Ferrera explained. "New Yorkers are really cool. I'm just a little nervous about how they're going to accept the show. We'll be on the street blocking the way."

The decision was made after New York state and city authorities increased the rate of tax credit for film and TV production work. It is estimated that 300 people will lose work due to the switch.
