The Australian actor and comedy star, who is best known for his roles in City Homicide, Thank God You're Here and Hey Hey It's Saturday, said that he was flattered to be given the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of TV greats such as last year's presenter Bert Newton.
Bourne told AAP: "I am genuinely thrilled to be involved in TV's night of nights. It's an honour to be following in the footsteps of such television luminaries as Bert Newton et al - and the timing couldn't be better.
"I've always enjoyed myself immensely at the Logies, and since the chances of a nomination coming my way this year look pretty slim, I figure it's not a bad way of making sure I score an invitation."
The nominees for the 53rd Annual Logie Awards will be announced on April 3, while the award ceremony takes place on May 1 at Melbourne's Crown Entertainment Complex.
At last year's event, Home and Away star Ray Meagher won the Gold Logie award, while Rebecca Gibney was named 'Best Actress' for her role in Packed To The Rafters.
