George Negus show ratings improve

The Australian TV presenter's current affairs programme on Channel Ten was moved to a different timeslot after the 6pm showing had poor audience figures.
According to AAP, the show had 452,000 viewers last night at its 6.30pm screening compared to only 290,000 last week.
The new timeslot means that the series goes up against rival current affair shows Today Tonight and A Current Affair, which both have average audiences of over 1 million viewers.
During Ten's recent reshuffle of various television shows, chief programming officer David Mott said that they wanted to base their schedule on "feedback from viewers who value competitive, intelligent and incisive news and public affairs programmes".
Earlier this year, Negus was accused of being "indulgent" on his show and making "unwise" choices in the stories he covered. Before moving to Ten earlier this year, he hosted long-running SBS current affairs show Dateline for five years between 2005 and 2010.
