The Australian weather girl and television presenter, who married Clark Kirby earlier this year, has accepted a role on Melbourne's news team and will also take over the weather forecast occasionally.
Groen told The Daily Telegraph: "I am looking forward to it. It is a wonderful opportunity to be back with [Channel] Seven. The timing is great. I have had the chance to settle into my new home town and now I am ready for this."
The star quit Sydney last year to move to Kirby's home city of Melbourne. At the time, a spokesperson said: "She's basically decided to move to Melbourne for love - to be in the same city as her partner."
Groen and movie executive Kirby exchanged vows at the Prince of Wales hotel in Melbourne in January, surrounded by 155 friends and family. Groen said: "This has been the best day ever," while Kirby described his bride as "absolutely beautiful".
The couple later went on an "incredible" honeymoon to "the Maldives, then to Austria to the snow, and then... South Africa".
