The Australian comedy current affairs show, which is currently hosted by Paul McDermott, was recently axed by Channel Ten and will soon be replaced with the "new and improved" Good News World.
A spokesperson for Ten told the Herald Sun: "Good News Week will be back with a new and improved facelift, Good News World, including cast members from the series with a few extras."
McDermott will reportedly still host the programme.
Various sources have claimed that TV bosses wanted to take a break and "freshen up" Good News Week in order to give Ian Dickson's new show Can of Worms a primetime slot.
In July this year, Ten's head of corporate communications Jeanette McLachlan hinted at change when she said that "all networks continually look at their programming schedules".
The axing of Video Hits was later announced and the music show hosted by Faustina Agolley recently aired for the last time. Agolley has said that she feels "sad" for viewers, but is looking forward to a new challenge in the television industry.
