Polly Porter and Waz Jones, who went up against three other couples to renovate houses in the Australian reality television show, were the only pair to sell their property at auction for more than the reserve price.
The duo made $15,000 (£9,500) profit on their Melbourne house, plus $100,000 (£63,000) prize money for being the winners of the series. The three other couples had to pass in their properties as they had not made the reserve price.
Porter and Jones described their win to the Herald Sun as "awkward'', adding: "We all hoped that everyone would walk away from the show with some money.
"Everyone was genuinely happy for us but then everyone wanted to go off and see their families for a cuddle and some consoling. It's fair to say there were a few tears.''
Jones also said that their victory was "proof [that] nice guys don't always finish last".
Porter and Jones are believed to be celebrating their win with a holiday to Thailand with fellow competitors Tania and Rod Walsh.
The Block contestant Katrina Chambers recently revealed that she lost 14kg while filming the show and suffered from various health complications connected to her Crohn's disease. "I am still sick now," she said. "I have always wanted to be on [the show] and I was not going to let it defeat me."
