In last night's episode of the matchmaking reality television series, 58-year-old farmer John expressed his disappointment that "favourite girl" Belinda had decided to leave because she was unhappy being 12 hours away from her grown-up twin daughters.
John told the Herald Sun: "I wish she had have spoken to me before that time and I might have been able to talk her out of it. She could have finished the show and we could have worked something out later on.
"I would have been prepared to try and compromise and talk about it... I was pretty upset at the time. When she came to the farm she was really happy. She hadn't ridden a horse for about ten years and she was really rapt when she did. I thought she was fitting in great."
John continued: "I guess I'm not someone who is going to get down on my knees for someone that doesn't want to be here. That was her decision and I respect that. But I really missed her... she became my favourite girl."
Two of the other farmers on the programme recently admitted that they hope to find their perfect match because they have never been in love before. They also described their time on The Farmer Wants a Wife as an emotional "rollercoaster".
