The Farmer Wants a Wife is scheduled to return next year.

The Australian matchmaking reality television show, which is hosted by Natalie Gruzlewski, has been recommissioned by the Nine Network for an eighth series due to consistent successful viewer ratings figures.

A Nine spokesperson said in a statement: "We need all the single farmers or anyone that knows a single farmer to apply for series eight."

The current season of The Farmer Wants a Wife is following six remote rural farmers - Kev, Will, John, Frank, Tim and Trent - on their journey to find true love. Kev only has contestant Fiona remaining after Megan quit the competition.

Will recently doubted potential partner Samantha's integrity, accusing her of using him and the show to further her modelling career, while older farmer John was heartbroken when his favourite contestant walked out on him.

Gruzlewski recently said of The Farmer Wants a Wife: "I honestly think we can all relate to what the farmers are going through. Who doesn't want to fall in love and find that special someone?"

Since The Farmer Wants a Wife debuted in 2007, there have been five weddings between contestants. Four babies have also been born to couples who met on the show.
