Pauline Hanson has revealed that she was once offered money to take her clothes off.

The 57-year-old Australian politician, who is currently taking part in this season of Celebrity Apprentice, said that she turned down the offer of nearly $50,000 (£32,000) to take part in a swimwear photoshoot.

Hanson told the Herald Sun: "I was offered a lot of money to do a swimwear shoot. It was the magazines and they offered it about a year ago. It was not quite $50,000, but it was a lot of money and I knocked it back."

However, she said that she was happy to strip down to swimwear for charity in the first episode of Celebrity Apprentice, which airs tonight.

"It was great to be able to do it and that's what I'm about, supporting your teammates... that got us over the line," she said.

Hanson said that she was pleased when she took fellow contestants such as sports stars Shane Crawford and Wendell Sailor, So You Think You Can Dance judge Jason Coleman, model Jesinta Campbell and singer Deni Hines by surprise when they met for the first time.

She revealed: "They said, 'We came into the show with a perception about you', but now they all call me Mama P. I am the oldest in the show but don't underestimate me, which is what [Celebrity Apprentice host Mark] Bouris said. I can show them all a thing or two about work ethic."

Bouris recently described Hanson as "honest" and "endearing", while Campbell said that she has become an "amazing" mother figure to her.

Celebrity Apprentice Australia premieres tonight (October 24) at 7pm on the Nine Network.
