The celebrity agent, who was taken into the boardroom with model Cohen by team leader Jason Coleman after they lost a fashion show challenge, told boss Mark Bouris that he should fire Cohen over him because he had read "all over the papers" that he had a drug-riddled past.
In a double elimination, Bouris chose to fire Markson for his lack of contribution to the catwalk task, together with Cohen for not taking the rehearsals seriously.
As they walked out of the boardroom, Coleman said to Markson: "I can't believe you just sold him down the river like that. I'm so disappointed in that. That's terrible what you did in there, Max. That's a part of his life that's in the past."
Cohen said: "Not once have I lied about my past. I used to live that life but I came on the show to show how I turned my life around. It was a low blow. I'm offended... disgusted. I feel sorry for the guy."
Markson later said that he had "no idea" why he had been fired from Celebrity Apprentice, but said that he'd "taken it on the chin".
Last month, Cohen described living on the streets of LA as a 17-year-old as "brutal", but said that he feels "lucky" to have got himself back on his feet. The charity he is raising money for during his time on Celebrity Apprentice is Youth Off the Streets, and Cohen has previously said that he wants to be a "good example" to his cause.
