The Australian television personality, who currently hosts weeknight comedy current affairs panel show The Project alongside Charlie Pickering and Dave Hughes, is believed to be the top contender to host Channel Ten's new morning chatshow Breakfast.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Bickmore would join former colleague Dr Andrew Rochford and New Zealand TV star Paul Henry on the series.
Broadcasters such as Magdalena Rose and Sarah Murdoch were recently linked to the coveted role, and Melissa Doyle was even rumoured to be quitting her job on rival show Sunrise.
However, industry insiders have said that Bickmore would need to relocate from Melbourne to Sydney for the new job, a move she is reluctant to take on account of her young son. Bickmore recently revealed that it is "hard" being a single parent to 4-year-old Ollie after losing husband Greg Lange to cancer last year.
One insider said: "Ten are very keen to have her move across, but she has a lot of things keeping her in Melbourne."
Bickmore may want to stay at The Project, as the show was recently renamed and extended from its old 30 minute slot.
