The 58-year-old Australian breakfast TV veteran, who is scheduled to host Mornings With Kerri-Anne for the last time this Friday, recently discovered that she was being replaced by Sonia Kruger after nine years of presenting her own show.
When asked if retirement was an option, Kennerley told The Daily Telegraph: "God, no. I didn't think about retiring five years ago or ten years ago and I'm not thinking about it now. I'm just going to take some time and figure out a new direction."
She also said that she doesn't "know anything" about rumoured "special projects" that she is supposed to be involved in with the Nine Network, adding: "I don't know where that information came from."
Earlier this week, Kennerley said of her dismissal: "Business is business... There is no easy way to affect change. Everybody's ego gets dented a bit.
"I'm no different to anybody else in any other job who finds themselves moving on. Whether you like it or not is besides the point. Get on, suck it up and enjoy."
Kennerley also spoke of her respect for Kruger, saying: "Having known Sonia off and on over the years, I think she is a terrific girl and I sincerely wish her all the best. All good things come to an end, [people] move and change."
