The Australian entertaining duo, who host a breakfast radio slot together, filmed a late night programme called Kyle and Jackie O's Night with the Stars, but it failed to impress Seven Network bosses when it went to air on Monday night.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the show pulled a poor audience of only 560,000 viewers compared to earlier programme The X Factor's average 1.458 million viewers.
During the episode of Night with the Stars, Sandilands and Jackie O interviewed Janice Dickinson, Kendra Wilkinson and Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon.
An impressive 1.617 million viewers tuned in to see Julia Morris being crowned as The Celebrity Apprentice Australia winner on Channel Nine, while The Big Bang Theory and A Current Affair both did well too.
Sandilands and Jackie O won the top prize at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards earlier this year, despite being suspended from their positions at 2DayFM for grilling a 14-year-old rape victim on air about her sexual history three years ago.
The pair, who hosted the last series of Big Brother in 2008, recently found out that Sonia Kruger will present the revamped show when it returns next year.
