Karl Stefanovic has revealed that he has been feeling seasick on board one of the yachts competing in the world-famous Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

The TV personality - who hosts Nine Network breakfast show Today - has joined up with the crew of the Investec Loyal for the annual challenge. Competitors have been battling difficult conditions throughout the race, including wind speeds of up to 30 knots.

Speaking to NineMSN during a satellite phone call on Wednesday (December 28), Stefanovic said: "[There were] between three and five metre waves, thundering rain... mate it was just God awful, and yeah, it was just horrible. I don't ever want to experience it again.

"Twenty-four hours of that, and then it came good yesterday afternoon... thank God it came good, because I'm starting to feel a lot better now."

A total of 88 boats are taking part in this year's Bluewater Classic, which began on Boxing Day. The Investec Loyal is currently sitting in second place behind last year's winner Wild Oats XI.

It was recently reported that Stefanovic may leave Today for a role on Nine's current affairs show 60 Minutes.
