The new version of Young Talent Time has started in Australia.

It was announced last year that the Channel Ten series, which used to be hosted by Johnny Young, was being revived with a new format and would now be presented by Rob Mills and judged by musician Tina Arena.

According to the Herald Sun, Mills announced at the beginning of the episode: "This is it. You've been waiting for it." During the show, Mills and Young performed Stevie Wonder's 'Uptight', while Arena sang her 1994 hit single 'Chains'.

Aydan Calafiore, an 11-year-old wannabe singer from Melbourne, led the performances with Black Eyed Peas single 'I Gotta Feeling'. Other performances from the ten-person 'talent team' included Jessie J's 'Price Tag', Lady GaGa's 'The Edge of Glory' and The New Radicals' 'You Get What You Give'.

Each week, viewers will watch four youngsters from the 'talent team' competing for rave reviews from Arena.

The original version of Young Talent Time launched the careers of stars such as Dannii Minogue, Karen Knowles, Jamie Redfern, Debra Byrne and Joey Perrone.
