Packed to the Rafters will air a full season this year.

Seven Network bosses have promised that the 2012 series of the Rebecca Gibney family drama will be a full 20 episodes, after they controversially cut 2011's season short to make way for new show Winners and Losers.

According to the Herald Sun, new episodes of Packed to the Rafters will see former 24 star Cameron Daddo's return to Australian television, as he takes on the role of newspaper editor Adam Goodman.

Other newcomers include Jacob Allen, who will play Dave's brother Matt Jennings, and Samantha Tolj as Sian Parry. It was revealed last year that former Neighbours actress Brooke Satchwell will join the series as Rafter Electrical employee Frankie Calasso.

Storylines for 2012 allegedly include a health scare for Ted (Michael Caton), a life-changing decision by Angus McLaren's character Nathan and romantic developments in the friendship between Ben (Hugh Sheridan) and Emma (Zoe Cramond).

It was recently revealed that the Nine Network has created a new television drama called Tricky Business, designed to rival Packed to the Rafters. It will star comedian Shane Bourne and former Home and Away actors Kip Gamblin and Lincoln Lewis.

Packed to the Rafters returns to Seven on February 14.
