Chrissie Swan: 'The Circle' was brutal on my home life'

Chrissie Swan has described her time on The Circle as "brutal".

The Logie Award-winning Australian television personality, who quit the Channel Ten chatshow after the birth of second child Kit six months ago, said that she loved the job but had "nothing left" at the end of the day for him and 3-year-old son Leo.

Swan told the Herald Sun: "For me, at this time, I just couldn't maintain it and I didn't even realise until I had Kit. It's different when you've got two [children]. The nine-hours-a-day daily grind was just too much for me and because [The Circle] is a national show, we didn't have any holidays at all.

"We worked straight through, five days a week, nine or 10 hours a day, January to December."

Swan also admitted that she was "really apprehensive" about quitting TV to become a radio star, but said that she knew that she'd made the "right decision" after her first Mix 101.1 breakfast shift with Jane Hall.

Former Neighbours actress Hall recently described it as an "honour" to work alongside Swan, while Swan said that hosting the show with Hall is a "dream come true".
