Kerri-Anne Kennerley has lashed out at her former bosses at the Nine Network.

The 58-year-old Australian television personality - who was shocked when her morning chatshow was axed last year after nine years on air - likened the station to the cruise ship Costa Concordia, which capsized last month after striking a rock just off the coast of Italy.

Kennerley told The Sunday Telegraph: "When people are under stress they don't always do things as you would expect them to do things, and there's no denying that those Channel Nine executives are under high stress.

"There are a few parallels between [Nine] and the Costa Concordia: they veer off course, hit the rocks, try to right themselves and sink and the captain gets off first, so let's see how their year pans out."

Kennerley's show has been replaced by new series Mornings, which is fronted by singer David Campbell and TV presenter Sonia Kruger. Kruger likened the move to a "job swap", as Kennerley is believed to be taking part in this year's Dancing with the Stars, which Kruger used to host.

Kennerley has previously said of being axed: "Business is business... There is no easy way to affect change. Everybody's ego gets dented a bit.

"I'm no different to anybody else in any other job who finds themselves moving on. Whether you like it or not is besides the point. Get on, suck it up and enjoy."
