The 33-year-old Australian newsreader, who is currently taking part in this year's season of Dancing with the Stars, said that the show has boosted her ego to the point where she now asks for her dress hemlines to be shortened.
Armytage told the Herald Sun: "The other girls were in these tiny frocks so I was like, 'Take it up, take it up.' If someone had told me I'd get this far and dancing for the nation in a mid-thigh fringe dress, I would have said, 'No way!'"
When Dancing with the Stars 2011 first started, She revealed that she feels "proud" of her curves", saying: "[The show] is a great way to put myself out there - even if it is completely terrifying - and say, 'This is me.' I am who I am."
Television personality Armytage recently became single again after ending a long-term relationship with a builder called Sean. A friend of Armytage said that Dancing with the Stars has been a "godsend" because it has "kept her mind off the break-up".
The 33-year-old has since described herself as "happily single", adding: "[The split] was going to happen anyway. I am fine... and happy to hear any offers."
There are now five celebrities left in Dancing with the Stars; Armytage, model Lara Bingle, WAG Haley Bracken, chef Manu Feildel and singer Damien Leith. Model Nick Bracks was eliminated in Sunday night's episode.
