The former Neighbours actor, who hosts the Australian version of the reality dance contest alongside Sonia Kruger, said that he is not surprised how much gossip has surrounded the show but believes that it makes for good TV.
MacPherson told the Herald Sun: "It's been competitive, there's no doubt. And you've got some interesting personalities in there. The pressure of competition, fatigue from dancing for three months and there's bound to be some dynamic stuff.
"There is a great buzz and I'm busting my arse working for this show and I'm enjoying it."
MacPherson also said that he approves of new judge Josh Horner, saying: "I think [that] Josh is a dynamic energy who has really settled into this show well."
This year's Dancing with the Stars has been plagued with controversy. Kruger first mocked the 40-year age gap between contestant Brynne Edelsten and her 68-year-old husband Geoffrey, then model Lara Bingle was believed to have fallen out with cricketer Nathan Bracken's wife Haley.
