Marco Pierre White and Anthony Bourdain have agreed to appear in the Australian version of MasterChef.

British restaurateur White and US chef and writer Bourdain reportedly filmed special guest appearances on the reality TV series earlier this week.

White, who is currently in Australia to promote a pantry cooking stock and visit his daughter Letty, was spotted on the show's Sydney set on Tuesday.

He told The Daily Telegraph: "I have that freedom where I can leave England, where I can come to Australia for nine days and, you know, hang out here and sit here and looking at the Opera House and it is magical."

Earlier this year, White said that he doesn't regard Jamie Oliver as a "chef" because he has "never won a Michelin star". He also claimed that Oliver is "not really accepted by the professional chef world". He did, however, admit that the star does "inspire" a lot of people to cook.

In last night's episode of MasterChef, Seamus Ashley was eliminated after failing to impress the judges with his snapper, enoki mushroom and snow pea dish. Last week, Alex Glasson left the show but has since revealed plans to invent an automated cooking machine.
