Reports have suggested that the singer has been approached to join the panel for the second series of the competition, following Kyle Sandilands's decision to quit the show.
However, Goodrem explained that she had been offered the job before the show's initial launch last year.
"Heard the reports," she wrote on Twitter. "I was asked to be on X Factor before it ever started in Australia, But declined as my focus and love is to make music (sic)."
Goodrem is currently working on her fourth studio album, which is expected to be released later this year.
Natalie Imbruglia and Ronan Keating have also still to confirm if they will return to the judging panel for a second year.
