The former Neighbours actress, who used to be the lead singer of Rogue Traders and has hosted So You Think You Can Dance, has allegedly been brought in by the Seven Network to replace Natalie Imbruglia on the second series of the reality TV show.
X Factor host Luke Jacobz told The Daily Telegraph: "I've definitely heard Nat Bass's name mentioned. I know a decision has definitely been made because I walked past our producer this morning and said, 'Do you know who it is?' And he said, 'Yup' and smiled and walked away."
The Home and Away actor also said that George Michael has been mentioned as a possible replacement for judge Kyle Sandilands but admitted: "[Producers] are telling me nothing."
Sandilands revealed earlier this month that he would not be returning to the show because it is "too hectic". Soon afterwards, it was reported that Imbruglia and Ronan Keating had "stalled" before signing their contracts.
Jacobz added: "I texted Ronan the other day to ask if he was coming back and he just sent a wink 'smiley face' reply in a text. So I'm not sure about him yet."
Guy Sebastian is the only mentor from last year who has confirmed that he will be appearing again.
