The former Spice Girl, who is currently pregnant with her first child with husband Stephen Belafonte, flew into Sydney with her family and an entourage yesterday ahead of filming her first episodes as a judge on the Aussie version of the reality television show.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Mel B plans to acclimatise herself in the next few days before heading to Brisbane for the first round of auditions next week.
Sources close to the singer have revealed that she plans to get through the audition rounds, head back to LA for the birth of her third child and then return to Australia for the live shows.
Ronan Keating and Guy Sebastian have renewed their contracts as judges on the show for the second time, but Mel B and ex-Neighbours star Natalie Bassingthwaighte were brought in earlier this year to replace former judges Natalie Imbruglia and Kyle Sandilands.
Sandilands quit the show after admitting that it involves too much "work".
