Selena Brown has become the first contestant to be eliminated from this year's Biggest Loser.

The 21-year-old Darwin student, who was being trained by Tiffiny Hall during her time on the weight loss reality TV show, left the competition after being put up for elimination against Hamish by her fellow teammates.

In last night's The Biggest Loser episode, the Red and Black teams were given the option of voting unanimously to keep both Selena and Hamish in the competition, but 34-year-old Margie Cummins decided to still vote Selena out.

Before revealing her nomination, Margie said: "It's not easy to send anyone home, but I know... that this particular person [doesn't] train hard at all. When does the penny drop for them? If I was down there and I wasn't doing the work, I would expect to go home."

After naming Selena as her chosen contestant for elimination, Margie told her: "Selena, it's not easy. I hate doing this. I know Selena needs to be here [but] I came here today to vote."

After her elimination, Selena said: "If I'd been given the second chance I would have shown everyone and myself that I could give 100%." Saying that she wants to become "a chick who's rockin'", she added: "I am determined to push myself. I need to, in order to get a better life."
