The Steven Spielberg sci-fi series set in the year 2149, which was filmed in Queensland, is believed to be Channel Ten's biggest weapon to damage the latest season of crime drama Underbelly's high ratings record.
Ten's chief of programming David Mott told the Herald Sun: "Terra Nova is a big event piece of television with amazing special effects. It is a very different space to Underbelly, in our view."

Although new western series Wild Boys beat Underbelly: Razor in the ratings two weekends ago, it averaged 1.555 million viewers in this week's episode.
Terra Nova stars Jason O'Mara as the "mysterious and enigmatic" patriarch of a family who travel back in time to the prehistoric era. It also stars Stephen Lang, Jason O'Mara, Ashley Zukerman and Emelia Burns.
