Dennis defended by ex-boyfriend

The ex-boyfriend of Dennis McHugh has predicted that the dance teacher will not be "bothered" about the controversy surrounding his behaviour in the Big Brother house.

Producers decided to remove Dennis from the house yesterday after he spat in the face of fellow contestant Mohamed Mohamed. The incident followed a huge row between Jennifer Clark and Rex Newmark over a painting which had been slightly defaced.

Lee Diey, who was dumped by Dennis before he entered the house, has vowed to stand by him, claiming that he was right to stick up for his friends when Mohamed got involved in the argument.

"I am shocked by all of this. I can't believe he has been put out for sticking up for someone," Lee told the Daily Record. "The fact he has been kicked out is a disgrace. I think it's appalling. Obviously Dennis got in a verbal argument with Mohamed and it got quite heated. He feels he was in the right so I don't know if he will be that bothered by it."

He added: "I will support Dennis through all of it. I feel he was in the right."

Channel 4 has confirmed that Dennis will be questioned by police over the incident.
