The latest news snippets and gossip from the house...

  • Rachel reminded the group today that they will be viewed as role models by some of the younger Big Brother viewers. She told Darnell: "Don’t forget, there is a lot of kids watching who look up to you." She said if anyone wound him up outside of the house, he should simply walk away.
  • Darnell spoke this morning about what he will wear for his eviction, adding that he is only taking out of the house what he can carry. Sara reminded him that he is wearing a skirt so will not have any pockets to stash his belongings. However, Rex pointed out that the songwriter is wearing Dale’s swimming shorts underneath, which have pockets.
  • Rex told Sara today that if her sister is not at her eviction then Big Brother does not "care for" her. Sara said she does not expect her Aussie sibling to make it to the event, adding that it would be amazing if she was. Darnell went on to say that his two best friends and his producer will be at tonight’s final.
  • Rex launched a campaign to clear up the Big Brother house ahead of the group's departure tonight. Having tidied the kitchen, he moved on to the bathroom where he said there were about "25 toothbrushes". He then gathered clothes and told Mikey any that were unclaimed would be placed in a sack and put in the cupboard. When Mikey later went to get some bread, Rex barked at him to leave the packet as he had found it. "I hate clutter," the chef said, with Darnell agreeing that everything in "his crib" has a purpose.
  • Darnell binned a bag of sugar and a box of sugar cubes this afternoon, then moaned to Rex that there was no sugar for his hot drink. He threw away the cubes because he was disappointed that they didn’t dissolve in his cup of tea, telling Rachel they were too hard. The discovery of cornflakes in the bag led to it being thrown away as well. Rex looked for more, then realised Darnell's error. "Sometimes I really want to kick your ass, dude," he said.
  • Mikey was aghast this afternoon when Rex revealed his theory that Lisa and Mario were the real custard cream thieves. "Your friends," Rex chuckled, as Mikey stood open-mouthed in the living area. The chef explained that he had come to the conclusion as the couple always started to giggle when the subject of the biscuits was raised. Mikey said Luke would have found out the culprits by now and that he will ask him tonight.
  • Mikey told housemates in the living area that he hoped Big Brother would give them two hours to sleep this afternoon. Rachel and Rex then noted that some of the camera operators were laughing at his suggestion. "What is so funny about that?" challenged Mikey, who was told that he is obsessed with sleep.
  • Rex told Mikey today that his diet of bread and cheese was the "worst in the world". He said he would go to an early grave if he continued to eat as he does. Smiling, Mikey munched down his sandwich and said "Scrummy, yum tum". Rachel then repeated the saying, prompting Rex to exclaim: "Oh my God, get me out of here."
  • Mikey wondered who would be there to greet him after the final. He told Rachel that he doubted his 12-year-old niece would be there because she is "a bit too young" but added that she would probably be having some kind of party at home. Rachel then expressed her excitement about seeing her sister and urged the rest of the group to come over and say hello to her once they are all outside.
  • The group spent a few hours packing their suitcases for the final time this afternoon and Rachel, Darnell and Mikey all decided to take some of the chickpeas into the outside world with them. "Just so when you tell the story of the basic budget, you have a visual aid," Darnell said. Mikey agreed that it was a good idea and packed his suitcase with chickpeas, lentils and rice.
