Aisleyne: 'C4 jumped ship too early'

Former Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace has accused Channel 4 of axing the show too hastily.

The 30-year-old model, who finished in third place on the 2006 series, claimed that executives should have considered a major revamp of the format before resorting to pulling the plug for good.

Writing in her Reveal blog, she explained: "I think Channel 4 are jumping ship too early, and may live to regret axing Big Brother after next year's show. Big Brother isn't dead, it just needs a jump start. Maybe a new production team with fresh ideas would help? 

"The show is still successful in the USA, so maybe we need to learn from them and their format. We are a voyeuristic nation and we love to watch real life - that's why reality shows are so popular. 

"Even programmes like EastEnders emulate real life and are a firm national treasure."

Earlier this week, Channel 4 confirmed that Big Brother 11 will be the show's final series with the broadcaster.
