We didn't need The Sun to kick out Nick. Channel 4 and the producers of the hit gameshow, Big Brother, have today disqualified Nicholas Bateman from any further participation in the programme.

Nick was evicted at 5pm today for persistent infringement of the Big Brother rules, after it came to light that he had yet again been attempting to manipulate the show’s nomination process.

He was discovered to have been writing notes and showing them to fellow contestants in an attempt to influence their voting intentions. The rules of Big Brother expressly forbid contestants from talking about nominations and tactical voting.

The decision was taken after a day of high-drama in the Big Brother house, when his fellow contestants confronted Nick about his attempts to influence the votes of others.

Nick’s double-dealing finally came to light during a discussion in the early hours of this morning between the housemates. His colleagues subsequently searched Nick’s belongings and discovered the notes with which Nick had been attempting to sway his companions voting intentions.

Having earlier issued both a verbal and a written warning to Nick and all other contestants making it clear that they faced eviction if they continued to contravene the rules against vote- rigging, it was decided that Nick’s continued presence in the house was no longer tenable.

Big Brother is a Bazal production for Channel 4.
