Big Brother is returning to Africa for a Nigerian version, it has been announced.
BB Nigeria will begin on Sunday, March 5, and last for thirteen weeks (91 days). Twelve Nigerian contestants will compete in the traditional manner for a final prize fund of $100,000 (£57,000).
The English-language series will air three times each week on pan-African channel M-net; a 30-minute nominations show will air on Mondays, a 60-minute highlights show on Wednesdays and a 60-minute live eviction show on Sundays. Live coverage will air for 20 hours a day on satellite service DStv.
Obi Asika, one of the show's producers, said that BB Nigeria would "unify Nigerians" and give "a better understanding" of the country.
