Shilpa and Jade finally made up last night, patching over a rift that had plagued the house since the Goody clan was introduced.
After a lengthy heart-to-heart, in which Jade insisted she was not a racist, they both admitted that they had wanted to put their issues behind them for a while, but neither had thought the other would be open to apologising.
"You were scared of the reaction you'll get," said Jade. "I didn't want to say 'Shilpa, wanna come talk to me?' and [you] say 'no'."
However, Shilpa pointed out that the war of words hadn't been altogether two-sided. "You said more nasty things about me than I said about you," she reminded her, adding that she had always wanted to get on well with every housemate.
"As long as I'm in here, I don't want anybody to have any ill feelings about me....I was really hurt that for the first time in my life I've gone to a place and felt uncomfortable, be made to feel uncomfortable, left other people feeling uncomfortable."
Jade suggested they reach a truce for their remaining time in the house. "I don't want the awkwardness anymore," she said. "I don't like it, waking up in the morning and saying 'good morning' to everyone and not you....I'm not spiteful and I'm not on purposely nasty."
Their problems apparently resolved, Jade was quick to look to the rest of the evening. "I feel better now," she smiled. "Maybe they'll give us some alcohol," she hoped as the pair walked to the diary room.
