Big Brother sets lie detector task

Housemates had to endure lie detector tests this afternoon, as the soul part of this week's 'Guru' shopping task continues.

They were called into the diary room one at a time while Big Brother assessed their honesty as they answered 10 questions.

As the housemates took their turns in the hotseat, they were watched on the plasma screen by the rest of the group.

Each person was asked the same first five questions before a further five tailored specifically to their own experiences.

After confirming their names, they were each asked: Do you have a gameplan? Do you think you're going to win Big Brother? Would you betray a fellow housemate to win the £100,000 prize fund? Have you told any lies to your fellow housemates? And - in a cheeky reference to an earlier argument - Did you hide the cheese?

"They know stuff so they know who they want to stitch up," said a suspicious Carole, as she trooped into the diary room to be grilled by Big Brother. But Ziggy - who was exempt from the test with fellow gurus Sam and Amanda - disagreed with her theory, arguing that it was only intended to be a "bit of fun".
